Tiki and tropical drink recipes: The "Pineapple Mojito" cocktail drink.

How to make the Pineapple Mojito, a great tasting tropical cocktail for your tiki bar.
A great drink to cool off to while you are chilling in the tiki lounge.




Pineapple Mojito Recipe:

Ingredients
• 3 sprigs mint (one for garnish)
• 2 teaspoons of sugar half a lime, chopped
• 1-1/2 ounces light rum (Bacardi, cruzan, trader vic's, etc.)
• 2 pieces fresh pineapple

• Club Soda

Procedure.
Muddle 2 sprigs of mint, lime, pineapple, and sugar in a mixing glass to release the essence. Then add the rum. Shake in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake until cold. Then strain into a highball glass with ice. Top with the club soda and garnish with the remaining mint sprig.

How to make a classic Mojito with Recipe.

ORIGINS
The Mojito is a classic Cuban cocktail drink. The Mojito is over a hundred years old. The drink originated in Havana in the late 1800s. It started to become popular in the United States in the 1930's with the influx of Caribbean culture.


The pirate Richard Drake is said to have made a older version of the drink called El Draque or "The Dragon". This older version used rum, sugar, lime and mint.


OVERVIEW
A mint tasting tiki drink, which is very
refreshing on a hot summer day.

A great blend of sweet and sour flavors.




MOJITO RECIPES

RECIPE ONE






  •  1-1/2 ounces of Light Rum







  •  10-12 Fresh Spearmint







  •  1/2 lime 







  •  2 Tsp. Simple Syrup (Water and Sugar)







  •  Club Soda




  • Squeeze juice from 3 quarters of lime into tall glass. Set the squeezed lime wedges to the side. Throw in 11 mint leaves and use a muddler to release mint oil. Add squeezed lime wedges and remaining ingredients. Fill glass with ice cubes. Shake with cocktail shaker then top with a splash of club soda as a option.
