Many think the Ramos Gin Fizz is one of the best tiki morning cocktail drinks. It can be a bit hard to make, but it's worth it. It was invented by Henry C. Ramos in the 1880's. It was at his bar in the the Meyer's Restaurant. This is one of New Orleans; biggest, most famous, cocktail drinks. Ramos is said to have hired 35 bartenders to make this drink during Mardi Gras.

Ramos Gin Fizz Recipe:

• 2 oz Old Tom Gin (Bombay Dry for Substitute)

• 1 tsp White Sugar

• 1 White of Egg

• 2 Tbs Cream

• 3 Drops of Orange Flower Water (See Note Below)

• 1/2 oz Fresh Lime Juice

• 1/2 oz Fresh Lemon Juice

• Soda Water to top

• OPTIONAL is a few drops of Vanilla Extract.

Directions for Ramos Gin Fizz:
Shake in a cocktail shaker for 2-3 minutes with ice.
Pour into a hurricane glass.
Top with Soda and stir to foam.

NOTE: Orange Flower Water.
Do not add to much, it can overpower the drink.
It can be a bit hard to find, but is very important to
make a proper Ramos Gin Fizz. You can find it in
higher end liquor stores and some Middle Eastern
stores. It also can be bought online.
